Student Success Statement: Alexander Pope

                          Student Success Statement
“Act well In your part; there all honor lies.”
                              Alexander Pope

Reflection: There is a lot of honor in everything we do. The good things not the bad things. You can’t find honor in stealing, you cannot find honor in doing drugs. Why? Because when you do drugs you are not honoring God, yourself, and those who have authority over you. You just can’t. The definitions for Honor are; high respect; esteem, a privilege, and regard with respect. You are now aware of what it means. You know you should have a lot of honor, you are a child of the most high, a child of God. It is a privalage because we are sinners, we do not honor him all the time but he still loves us despite anything and everything. Also, with respect, we should respect ourselves, our parents, our friends, our enemies, everyone. Especially God. There is where honor lies, because everything that’s good is honorable.

Student Success Statement: Sophocles

Student Success Statement
“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
                             Sophocles
Honestly, no matter be honorable. In everything and all the time, doesn’t matter if somebody sees it or not. No one has to recognize how much honor you have, only God, yourself, your family. And even if they don’t see it who cares? At least you’re going the right way. For example, a test, you know very well that if you pass that test you will be honored and given a scholarship  but if you don’t you will get no recognition. So you cheat and you get honored, get treated like a winner, but you know very well yourself that you aren’t a winner, you cheated. But let’s say you don’t cheat, so you fail the test, you have another chance. There are other things that are greater coming your way. And even if you were not treated like a prince or princess because you passed and aren’t told, “Good job” God is proud of you, because even though you failed, you didn’t fail to have honor. Being honorable is being real, doing the right thing. I honor my God by loving him all the time, I honor my parents by obeying them. Now honor yourself, this country, your school, friends, family, teachers, no matter what because when you honor them you are showing your good self and are honoring yourself. In a good way though not a conceited way. What I’m saying is that you should be honorable, one day you are going to be a mother or a father, and you would want your kids to honor you. So honor everyone, honor yourself. And have honor. Choose the right always.
