Student Success Statement: Aristotle

                      Student Success Statement
“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

Aristotle
Reflection:
When we learn to do things it stays stuck in your in your mind. But sometimes we need to teach our hearts to. If we don’t teach our hearts then we don’t really have anything. We need to teach our hearts to love, to feel, to be good. If we don’t teach our hearts how to do any of that then we won’t live life the right way. We can’t keep filling our minds with negative things because whatever your mind thinks comes to your heart and that’s when you start feeling things and that’s how you show emotion to people. When we think bad we become bad people. If we don’t teach our heart then we won’t be able to follow our hearts because if our mind is full of bad things then our heart is to because they say the heart is the place where emotions start. We could be happy but we have to teach both of these organs to think and feel positive.

Student Success Statement: Mr. Haymore

               Student Success Statement
“CTR connects you to happiness and success- CTW disconnects”
                          Mr. Haymore
Reflection:

When you are choosing to do the right things you are more likely to become happy. Doing bad things makes you think you feel happy but in reality you feel just as empty and bad. For example you’re at a party with some “friends” who are doing drugs and as they are doing them you make the bad choice of doing it to because your “friends” told you it was cool. After a while you become addicted and you mess up your life. Doing the good things is what makes you feel good about yourself. It feels nice when you do something good and they tell you thank you or you get a reward. Every time you do something good you are connecting yourself to happiness. Don’t mess up your life and choose the right!!!

Student Success Statement :Alex Linares

                Student Success Statement

“Choosing the right is always the right thing to do”
                    Alex Linares
Reflection:

Choosing to do good things always brings you good attention and I don’t understand why people don’t choose to do it. It’s always the right thing to do because it gives to the world. For example if you see someone getting bullied and you do the right thing and stop it the person getting bullied will feel great because they know somebody defended them. Choosing the right is sometimes going to be hard but at least it doesn’t allow you to worry about anything. You always know when something is right or wrong. If you notice doing bad doesn’t even bring good to you at all it just bring bad stuff and then next thing you know your life is just horrible. We only have one life and we should do something good with it. We are all important and equal. Maybe the right choice isn’t always the easiest but at least it’s right. Choose the right things and im pretty sure your life will be full of great surprises.

Student Success Statement

           Student Success Statement
“Better to be alone than to be in bad company”
                                             ANON

Reflection: It’s true. It’s better to have no friends than to have friends that aren’t going to do the right things or treat you wrong. If they really are your friends are your friends they would not let you go down with them. Being around bad company can either make you want to do the bad things to fit in or it just makes you feel lonely. Bad company is just going to bring bad to your life and why waste that one life you a have on bad things or around bad people. The people we should surround ourselves with good people. Good people will help you when you’re down but bad people could care less. For example your bad friend wants to do something really bad like sell drugs and he makes you go with him or do it to. By the time you guys both get caught he could run away from the cops and he could go on living his life. That bad company won’t be there for you when you die. I would rather be lonely than to have friends that secretly hate me or treat me wrong.

Student Success Statement:Margret Chase Smith

                 Student Success Statement
“The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character”
                    Margret Chase Smith
Reflection: It’s always the trends or whatever the popular people say is cool that we do. Sometimes the “cool” things are the ones that are really bad. Like right now doing drugs might be “cool” and popular to some people but that doesn’t mean we should do them. People might make fun of us for not doing the “cool” things but it’s not like those people are going to be there for us when we are on our death beds right. It’s a test of moral character because it says who you are. It says if you’re a follower or not, it says if you’re a good listener or not. Just because something is cool doesn’t mean we HAVE to do it. Its never an easy thing to do to say no to the popular things because then we feel left out or we feel like we aren’t good enough to hang out with those people but it doesn’t matter. Choosing the right thing you do will always be hard but it’s the best thing you can do in your life.

Student Success Statement: A Job Well Done.

Student Success Statement
“The reward of a job well done is to have done it”

Reflection: When we do a job well done we all know our reward is a check. The money is basically our reward. But there are other jobs in the world we could do like doing kind things for people or complementing them. Anything that’s good is a job well done. At the end our reward could be anything. Like for example if we help a lady taking her bags inside her house and when you’re just ready to leave she tells you to wait and gives you a dollar or maybe not even money but a glass of lemonade. Everything we do counts in our lives. We either get rewarded good or bad. But be patient. Just do the right things and you will be rewarded.

Student Success Statement: Margret Thatcher

Student Success Statement
Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.”
                              Margret Thatcher
Reflection: If we keep telling ourselves to do that right thing we can have a better view on ourselves. When I do something bad I feel really bad about myself and I feel like really dirty. Doing good things always make me feel good. This quote tells me that everyone needs to set some rules for themselves and not only follow the rules of others. If we want to be happy and we want to feel good about ourselves we should do the right thing. Doing the bad things is eventually going to make you feel bad. Like for example you do something bad like drugs next thing you know you’re in the hospital for overdose and you feel insecure having to look really bad physically. If we want to feel good about ourselves we have to do the right things. Make some rules for ourselves. The right thing is a boost to the top of the mountain of life.

“My Experience So Far at HPIAM”

“My Experience So Far at HPIAM”

My Experience so far at HPIAM is pretty good. It’s not as scary as I thought it would be considering I am a freshman. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be either just my math classes. This school is a really good school in my opinion. Its really clean and I know the teachers care about all of us. None of my teachers have been mean so im really happy about that. HPIAM is a really good school and I would recommend it to all my friends in HP. The school is really good because everyone try’s their best to help the students get to college. I think that’s really cool. So far there has not been any bullying so that’s really great. In my old schools there was a lot of bullying and im glad this one doesn’t have any. The people here are very nice and mature. Well only the ones who I’ve met and actually became friends with. I made lots of cool new friends and became a little less shy. I love all my classes I just have trouble in some of them. My Spanish and my math class are probably the only ones I really have trouble on but I’ll try my best in them. I haven’t had any bad experiences at this school witch is a really good sign to me. I thought It would be difficult. The teachers are really cool and nice witch is the best part for a student like me. Its hard for me to like school if I have mean teachers. I’ve been doing a great job and have had no problem with anyone. I really like this school and I’m glad I was put here because I will be spending my next 3 or 4 years in high school. I’m glad I can actually enjoy them.

The Sting of A Scorpion

                    The Sting of A Scorpion

Reflection: The story tells us about a 7 year old boy who was camping one day and disobeyed his parents. His parents told him to keep his shoes on while camping at all times because they were in the desert because there are scorpions and snakes and other dangerous animals. The 7 year old boy went walking and didn’t take his shoes but instead flip flops and while walking he was stung by a scorpion. This was the bad consequence to not following his parent’s rules and also one for not doing the right thing. If he would have done the right thing he would have not been in so much pain because of the sting. He could have avoided the feeling of him getting close to death. It’s the same thing with us in the world. We choose the wrong it might not sting us at the moment but it will on the future. Or it can sometimes affect you right away. If we choose the right we don’t have to worry about a painful sting in the future and we can walk and smooth road until we finally reach to where we want to go.

Student Success Statement: Theodore Roosevelt

             Student Success Statement
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do Is the right thing.”
                           Theodore Roosevelt

Reflection: Is doing the wrong thing any good at all? All our choices affect us in some way we just don’t know how. Our moments when we have to make a decision are always a matter between good and bad. For example when you know eating chips is wrong and you have a choice wether to eat them or not it’s a choice between good and bad. If you eat those chips you’ll feel guilty and if you don’t you’ll feel great. There’s no greater feeling than knowing you did the right thing. It’s true when they say doing the best thing you can do is the right thing. Imagine if this world was just occupied by people who did the wrong things? I’d stick to doing good. It’s the best thing to do and it can also turn into the best feeling.
