Student Success Statement: Bo jackson

   Student Success Statement
“Set your goals, and don’t stop till you get there.”
                              Bo Jackson

Reflection: In life we want to do many things. We have many different goals. Some of our goals might be, wanting to become a singer, wanting to get better in math, or wanting to lose weight. The sad thing is once we mess up most of the time we decide to give up on our goal. If your goal is to become a singer then you might give up on your goal if no one notices you and doesn’t give you that leap to become a famous singer. If your goal is to get better in math you might want to give up on that goal as soon as you see you have failed already. Finally If your goal is to lose weight you might want to give up on that goal when you tried so hard and realize you only lost one pound. Thing is we shouldn’t give up on our goals. We have a chance to pick ourselves up. You fail once just try again. Giving up won’t take you anywhere. Truth be told you would have gotten better and achieved your goals if you didn’t give up. We have to fight for what we want even though we fail at least we tried and if we keep trying and trying you will and can achieve. Do not get discouraged. Keep your head up high and fight for those goals. They can make your life change.

Student Success Statement: Michael Phelps

                  Student Success Statement
“You can’t put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get”
                           Michael Phelps
                22 Olympic Medals (18 Gold)
Reflection: We cannot limit anything. Our dreams are unlimited. The bigger our dreams the better they are. If we limit ourselves to only one dream it might be one of the biggest mistakes you can make. For example you want to own your own store but you only ever focused on having that one store when really you had a whole lot of opportunities in front of you to make it a HUGE store. God made us to have big dreams not so we can limit ourselves, he can do anything so it’s almost like telling him he can’t make our dreams come true. Our dreams should not be small, we deserve the best. God wants us to dream big. We can do anything. Do you want to be successful or do you want to be the most successful person alive?

Restoring Faith In Humanity

            Restoring Faith In Humanity

It’s nice to see how many people would be willing to help others. If someone falls down onto the train tracks one person would be willing to lose their life if the train comes just to save the other. Saving a man from committing suicide is something beautiful. There are so many people out there that are miserable and have no one but to have one community save one suicidal man is a very touching thing. Saving a bank from getting robber, saving an animal from suffering. It’s about helping and saving people. The people that we have in our lives who bring us up when we are down and who try their best to make them smile, we should appreciate them, not take them for granted, not treat them like trash, This world needs faith. There are so many people out there doing wrong things and messing up their lives and they don’t even know it. More people need to have a kind heart. This video has shown me the kind of person I want to be when I grow up. I don’t want to ignore someone when they are right in front of me on those train tracks about to die, I want to go and save them. We can save their lives. God has put people like that on this world so that we may be able to save peoples lives, including animals. We each have a purpose in this world we just don’t know what it is yet. We need to restore faith in this world. What good is there to not have any faith? I mean we have faith that we are going to wake up the next morning right? That’s why we make plans for the nest day. We should have that kind of faith when its time to choose the right thing. Even if it means looking uncool in front of your friends. People in the military have to have faith everyday that they won’t die. They help protect our country. We may not be in the military or army or whatever but we can have enough faith to save our people, our brothers and sisters in Christ, everyone. Not just our friends but also our enemies. After all Jesus did sacrifice his life to save all of us and forgive us for our sins. He did it for us. Why can’t we have enough faith to save theirs? We can restore our faith anytime and any day. We have to restore it if we truly want  better and peaceful world.

   Hebrew 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Student Success Statement: Gordon B. Hinckley

           Student Success Statement
“Try a little harder to be a little better. “
                       Gordon B. Hinckley

Reflection: We have to put our part into everything if we want to be better. Most of the time we say “I want to do good” or “I want to become this” or “I want to get good grade.” If you think about it though you won’t get better unless you try harder. If we want to better ourselves in a certain area of our life we need to work harder. Try a little harder. Trying does not hurt it just shows you’re at least putting some effort and won’t make it seem like you do nothing. If you want better grades then try harder to do your work even if it’s hard. For example we want to get better in math but when we have a math test we hardly try because you think “it’s too hard.” If you at least try to do good in it you might actually get a good grade. In the end the fact that you tried makes you feel good. What if you end up getting a C on your test? It may not be the best grade but if you got an F your last test and changed it to a C that shows you tried. Try to be a little better. In the end everything turns out great.

Student Success Statement; Thomas J. Watson

                   Student Success Statement
“If you want to achieve excellence, you can get there today. As of this second, quit doing less-than-excellent work.”
                             Thomas J. Watson
Reflection: Today we have a chance to change the way we see and do things. Most of the time we see things in a very negative way and do things without wanting to do them. We come to school and we see school as a boring thing and we complain about the work and how tired we are. We see our work as something we just have to do. We could try to be interested in it. Some of us do our classwork and homework very lazily. Sometimes we do everything lazily. We have a chance to change the way we do things. I personally don’t want to keep doing good things I want to do greater things, step out of my comfort zone. The greater the better. Our life is something God given and we should make something excellent of ourselves. We can’t just keep doing things lazily and without thinking. We can do anything. Our less-than-excellent work isn’t going to take us no where in life.

Student Success Statement: Greg Hickman

        Student Success Statement
Paint a masterpiece daily. Always autograph your work with excellence.”
                       Greg Hickman

Reflection: Every day that we live we should accomplish something, no matter how big or how small. Everything we do counts for something. If we go up to someone and tell them “hey have a great day.” you can make the persons day. That would be one of your masterpieces because what you did made someone one happy. You accomplished making someone happy and that is excellent. At the end of our life our whole masterpiece is going to be painted with all the good and bad things we do, big or small. All the bad things we do will be painted all the good things we do. Only the blood of Christ can wash away those paint marks of the bad. We are growing every single day and it is a gift. I want my masterpiece to be filled with all the great things I did. I ask jesus to clean the bad marks on my painting. We should all do something good daily. In the end our masterpiece is what is left behind.

Student Success Statement: Paul Bear Bryant

                       Student Success Statement
“It’s not the will to win, but the will to PREPARE to win that makes the difference.”
                                       Paul Bear Bryant

Reflection: It’s not the winning we have to look forward to, winning is not just going to happen like “BOOM”. Winning takes hard work. For example if we are taking a test do you honestly think you are just going to pass even if you don’t know the material you’re taking the test on? We have to study and have to know what we are going to be doing in that test. We all want to win in life but we are so lazy that we don’t. We want things but we don’t want to work for them. You are not just going to win in life like if that’s what we were born to do. God made us humans and us humans have to work hard. Yes we might need a lot of help but we can have that from God and the help from our friends. We are human, all humans have to work. Nothing is just going to come to us. I believe that we have to work hard to get what we want, if we want to win.

He wanted people who were willing to sacrifice and that’s what he thought could get his team to win. Bryant molded his team into his image. He made sure they focused on aggressive defense and execution on special teams. Paul was really hard on his team and made sure they would win. His hard work is what got him to become so successful. With the help of the work his team put he was all the way at the top. “He wasn’t just a coach, He was the coach” said former USC coach John Macky. A lot of people really looked up to him.
