Duties and
Responsibilities:
Medical assistants preform
administrative or clinical tasks to support the work of physicians or other
health professionals. They preform procedures such as measuring vital signs of
a patient, administrating medications or injections, recording important
information in medical records, preparing handling medical supplies, and
collecting also preparing specimens of body fluids and tissues for laboratory
testing. They also work in military settings.
Salary:$13,870-$28,860
Educational
Requirements:
High school students should take
courses in biology, chemistry, anatomy. Medical assistants usually have a high
school diploma. Training is through on-the-job by a physician or another
medical assistant. Medical assistants are not required to be certified though
some employers would rather hire certified assistants. Many organizations offer
certification. Some require the passing of an exam and others require
graduation from an accredited program.
