Duties and
Responsibilities:
Industrial
Hygienist specialize classification and is distinguished from the health safety
specialist. Industrial hygienist preform industrial hygiene filed measurements
and safety evaluations. They determine appropriate monitoring and sampling strategies.
They operate and calibrate a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment.
Educational Requirements:
Students should take challenging college preparatory
courses, especially in mathematics and science, during high school.
A career in industrial hygiene require at least a
Bachelor's Degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health
engineering, or the physical science.
Many jobs require a certification or Master's Degree in related or in
the field. Certification requires successful completion of the American Board
of Industrial Hygiene examination.
