Medical Illustrator
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Medical illustrators are really skilled artists. They work
only in the medical field and create graphics for textbooks, journals,
magazines, and educational films. Their drawings are mostly of microorganisms
and body parts.
Some medical illustrators prepare drawings
that aid in research about the creation of artificial body parts. Sometimes
they are called to use their modeling skills to make artificial body parts.
Salary:
$35,000-$50,000
Educational Requirements:
Students should who want to
become medical illustrators should take a college preparatory program in high
school that teaches art and science. When they go to college they should either
major in art and minor in science or vise versa. Most of the medical
illustrators have master’s degrees in the field from a program that is by
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs. To be
certified as a medical illustrator it requires a graduate degree in medical
illustration, a portfolio review, and successful completion of a national exam.

I wouldn’t be interested in becoming this because I don’t know how to draw. L
