Duties and
Responsibilities:
Optometrist treat vision problems, they
treat vision problems by diagnosing the problem and prescribing correct
eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. Some specialize in industrial
vision safety, treatment of vision related learning disabilities and environmental
vision care. They do not write medical prescriptions, treat disease, or perform
surgery like ophthalmologists. Most are self-employed and work in hospitals, government
agencies, optical manufacturers, or universities.

Educational
Requirements:
If you are interested in becoming an
optometrist you should take the most challenging high school courses available
in math, science, and in English. Before entering a school for optometry you
should take at least two years of college in a pre-professional program because
it is required. Optometry school is four years in length. After being rewarded
with a degree of Doctor of Optometry optometrist must pass state exams before
beginning practice.
Reflection:
No I would not like to be an optometrist because it is not in my interest.
