Students who want to become
Osteopathic physicians should take the most challenging high school courses available
in science, math, and English. After three or four years of going to college,
prospective physicians must attend a medical school. Undergraduate requirements
for admission to all of the medical schools include one year of basic
chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and physics. Some schools also require
course work in calculus, English, the humanities, or social science. Medical
schools usually include two years of additional study in both basic and
clinical sciences and are also followed up with a year internship at a
hospital.
